Eligibility Requirements

As one of the organizations listed on the right, you are potentially eligible to become a TasteBuds Partner, which entitles you to a listing in the print and online versions of the 2010 TasteBuds Local Food Guide. For the 2010 TasteBuds Local Food Guide, no fees are require to be a listed partner, but donations are accepted. Becoming a TasteBuds Partner simply requires you to fill out an application.  You will receive a Partner Packet by mail if you are approved, and your organization's information will be listed in the print and online versions of the TasteBuds Local Food Guide. 

Crabtree Farms serves as the nonprofit home of the TasteBuds Local Food Guide for Chattanooga. The eligibility guidelines are set by Crabtree Farms and the TasteBuds Steering Committee. They govern the requirements and participation guidelines for entities and individuals in the Chattanooga foodshed wishing to become partners in the TasteBuds Local Food Guide.

Why should you apply to the TasteBuds Local Food Guide?

The TasteBuds Local Food Guide gives local people information on where they can find and purchase fresh, local food in the Chattanooga foodshed (a 100-mile radius of the city). Whether you are a farm, restaurant, farmers market, grocery store, or food artisan, being listed in TasteBuds will help bring visibility and business to your establishment.

The updated 2010 version of TasteBuds will be in print no later than May 15, 2010.  The tastebudsguide.org website will be updated as needed over the course of the year.  Within 30 days of applying your establishment will be listed in the online directory!  If you have any changes to your listing during the year, please contact us (423-493-9155, x.11) and we will update your online listing. 

When filling out your application (on the right), the agreement you check at the end recognizes you agree to the terms and conditions outlined in the agreement and eligibility document.

Partner Types

Farmer, $35 suggested donation

Grow, produce or raise farm products for consumption within the campaign region.

Farmers' Market, $50 suggested donation

Participants in the market not reselling products sourced from wholesale markets. "Farmers markets" without actual farmers (craft, flea markets) will not be eligible.

Restaurant, $75 suggested donation

Selling local products: Restaurant purchasing at least one product from a TasteBuds partner per week during growing season, May through November.

Selling locally-grown and crafted products, including at least one product from a TasteBuds partner per week during growing season, May through November.

Artisan Food Producer, $75 suggested donation

Hand-crafted food artisans and processors utilizing local farm products and whose primary market is in the Chattanooga foodshed
