Crabtree Farms was recognized for its 2009 "From the Ground Up" Community Garden Program by the WTCI Be More Awards™.  These awards celebrate the spirit of goodwill throughout the community by recognizing the impact and unsung heroes of area nonprofit organizations.  Crabtree Farms trained over 40 community gardeners in 2009, and helped to start 7 local community gardens, including school, neighborhood and church gardens.  Crabtree's Vanessa Mercer and Melanie Mayo are show with PBS's Judy Woodruff at the awards ceremony.
